Introduction

Imagine this scenario: it's during the challenging times of the pandemic, and my friends who are in relationships are facing their own share of conflicts.

 

Concurrently, I was enrolled in a course on Content Creation and UX Writing. As part of the course, we were tasked with designing an app. Seizing the opportunity, I approached my friends and posed the question, "When do you feel closest to your partner?" This questions aimed to highlight the positive aspects as inspiration for my new app's concept.

User needs

A noticeable pattern that surfaced was the emotional connection felt by couples when engaging in joint creative pursuits or embarking on unlikely adventures.

 

I undertook a comprehensive evaluation of a variety of tools and games designed for couples seeking precisely these types of enriching experiences. Within those I found, which encompassed both physical card games and digital applications, I selected intriguing ideas and chose to integrate the most appealing ones into the design blueprint of my app.

I came up with the statement below as a simple explainer for my new app.

Our Users

Continuing, I utilized the insights gathered from the data collected from my friends, whom I identified as the prime target audience. This informed the creation of a user persona and a detailed user journey, facilitating a deeper understanding of their requirements, inclinations, behaviors, and objectives.

I remained mindful of both the primary user and the invited partner throughout the process.

Guidelines

Using key considerations such as user experience principles, industry best practices, mood board and my newly created brand identity, I crafted branding guidelines. These guidelines serve as a structured framework to ensure our design decisions align with our brand's identity, user needs, and broader business goals.

The brand guidelines were created with the entire organization in focus, ensuring that everyone can adhere to the consistent brand standards.

Following thorough SEO research, I formulated long and short-tail SEO guidelines, taking visibility, relevance, and user experience into account.

With a holistic perspective and a particular focus on the user persona, I crafted Verbal guidelines. These guidelines will be instrumental in shaping all copy, interactions, and social media posts, as well as guiding our approach in various marketing contexts.

App Structure

I aligned my benchmarking findings with the user journey, persona insights, and core priorities, resulting in the development of an information architecture tailored to my app's design.

Conclusion

I successfully concluded the project, presenting my work and receiving valuable feedback from both teachers and peers. The diverse perspectives offered during the review were really inspiring and useful. The course proved highly rewarding, offering insights from other talented designers and writers who participated alongside me.
